Welcome to Tuscany!
We want your travel to Tuscany to feel seamless, comfortable, and well-guided
RECOMMENDED ARRIVAL
We kindly ask guests to plan to arrive by September 30 or October 1, 2026.
Exact recommendations will be confirmed by planners.

AIRPORTS
Florence (FLR): Closest to Pienza

Rome (FCO): Best options for direct international flights

Milan (MXP): Major European hub with trains to Florence

GROUP SHUTTLE TO PIENZA
A shuttle from Florence to Pienza will be offered on October 2nd
We strongly encourage all guests to book accommodations in Pienza, as this will be the central hub for all wedding transportation. While we are arranging pick-up points in Florence on October 2nd to bring you to the area, daily shuttles to and from the wedding events will operate exclusively out of Pienza.

PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
Private transfers are essential for guests staying outside Pienza.
Guests may contact VB Events (guest@vb-events.com) to arrange private drivers.
PASSPORT AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
IMPORTANT: New European Entry Procedures (EES & ETIAS)
To ensure your arrival in Italy is as smooth as possible, please take a moment to review the new travel regulations taking effect in 2026.
Europe is moving from manual passport stamps to a fully digital system.
1. The Entry/Exit System (EES) – Mandatory for All Starting in April 2026, all travelers from outside the EU (US, UK, Canada, etc.) will use the new EES system.
-
What happens: When you land, you will no longer get a physical ink stamp in your passport. Instead, you’ll head to a digital kiosk to provide biometric data (a quick facial scan and four fingerprints).

-
Expect Delays: Because this system is new, major airports like Rome (FCO) and Milan (MXP) are anticipating significantly longer lines at border control. Current estimates suggest wait times could reach 2–3 hours during peak periods.

-
Our Advice: Please allow extra time between landing and any scheduled trains or tours. If you are booking a train from Rome to Florence, we highly recommend booking a "flexible" ticket or leaving at least a 4-hour buffer after your flight's arrival.

2. The ETIAS Authorization – Check Before You Fly
The EU is also launching a digital travel authorization called ETIAS. While it is currently slated for late 2026, it may become active just before our wedding.
-
The Fee: The cost is €20 per person (valid for 3 years). Note: Travelers under 18 or over 70 are exempt from the fee but still need to register.
-
The Process: It is a 10-minute online form. Please only use the official EU website to avoid "service fee" scams.
-
Timing: If active, you should apply at least 72 hours before departure.
We want you to spend your time in Italy with a spritz in hand, not stuck in an airport line! Thank you for navigating these new "modern" hurdles to celebrate with us.
